How's the Picking in 2009?

Blueberries: 2009
Huge Crowd Tuesday, Nearly Picked Out Today 7/1. Could be several days to ripen more berries.
Great Crop. A Bit Later than recent years.

Blackberries: We thought July 1, but July 7 closer to right. Best Crop Ever. Early July to Mid August, then Mid Sept to First Freeze in October.

• The Blueberry Crop is large in 2009, including a whole new patch. Slowed by the Cold Spring, but revived by the 80-100deg weather. Mid-Season Varieties this week. Heavily picked Tuesday. Slim picking for a few days.
• The Blackberry crops are very large. Summer crop: Early July to mid August. Fall Crop: Sept to Late October.
• We have lots of Fresh We-Pik Blueberries, and hope to have them thru at least early August
• We have lots of frozen, We-Pik Blueberries and hope to have them all year.

Following is a general report for the season. For more current details, see the Table and above it.

Blueberry Report: Blueberries were great in 2008, but look better in 2009. Our newest patch is in it's 2nd year of picking and looks beautiful.

Blackberry Report - There is very good news for Blackberry lovers. The 2009 Blackberry crop is at least twice as large as we have ever had. Summer Blackberries ripen from about July 1 until Mid-August. Fall Blackberries are ready Mid September until the first hard freeze, in 2008, about Nov 1.

We have thousands of beautiful blueberry plants ready to sell, 1 to 3 years old, 1 to 4 feet tall.

Frozen We-Pik Blueberries: $3.50 a pound in full gallons (about 6 pounds) or $3.60/Pound in half gallons.

Strawberries: None.
