First Timer’s Information
The Berry Patch is a pick-your-own blueberry farm located South of Kansas City, Missouri since 1980. We are a family owned and operated business, directed towards families and lovers of fresh fruit!
Our primary business is our 30 acres of blueberries for customers to come and pick. However, we do supply pre-picked blueberries for those who do not wish to or are unable to pick their own. It is important to note that because our pickers pick our fields completely out, our pre-picked berries are not from our farm! We purchase quality blueberries from great growers located in Arkansas and Michigan (where blueberries grow like weeds!) to supply our pre-picked demand. We personally inspect, transport, and sort all of the berries that we sell to our pre-pick customers. These berries are picked up fresh every week, so you know you will be getting quality, delicious berries every time!
We just planted a new patch with blackberries, but it will be another two years before we have a crop! Blackberries have a slightly later picking date than blueberries, and typically start mid July and continue to about mid September.
What else is there to do besides pick blueberries at The Berry Patch?
- Our country store sells a plethora of delicious jams, jellies, drinkbases for lemonade, pickled vegetables, fun knick knacks, local honey, and sweet treats for you to browse.
- Our bakery makes fresh blueberry muffins every morning during our summer season and cookies.
- Kids will have a blast in The Fun Center on the obstacle course and haybale maze (free), or may enjoy a ride around the farm on The Berry Train. (This ride may not run on days when fields are overly muddy/wet).
- Picnic tables are provided around our farm, and you are welcome to bring picnics or lunches and enjoy a day out with the family.
